Vermont Dreamy Wedding Part 2

So last week you were introduced to Alex and Emmy, the amazing couple who flew me to Vermont to capture their wedding day!  I took you through the morning of getting ready, the ceremony, the portraits, and their fun excursion into the local Country Store in full wedding garb!  (PS- they were a HIT in the store!!)  Today, we get to look through the rest of the day!  Once the ceremony was over, we headed over to the reception.  It was ADORABLE!!  It was brunch time, so of course they had a coffee cake cutting ;)  After the reception we all drove down to Brattleboro Vermont and relived the day of Alex and Emmy's engagement.  From there, we headed to the local Art Gallery and kicked the night off with reception number 2!! Again, I cannot stress enough how flipping fun this wedding was!!  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Vermont Dreamy Wedding Part 1

I had the distinct pleasure of traveling to Vermont for Alex and Emmy's gorgeous fall wedding!  When we got there, the leaves had just started changing and there was a slight nip in the air.  Family and friends came from all over the world for this wedding!  They decided to incorporate their story into the wedding in the most adorable way!  They met, and subsequently got married in, the most adorable and quaint little town called Weston Vermont.  Oh and did I mention that Emmy's parents got married here as well??  I can't even begin to explain how adorable this wedding was!!!  They included a Celtic handfasting ceremony as a way to incorporate their family members.  I don't normally cry during ceremonies, but, oh man did I tear up for this one!!  This wedding lasted AALLLL day, and every minute was SO FUN!!!  Oh, and on the way to their reception, they stopped at the Country Store to try local Vermont cheeses and dips.  Seriously, did I mention how much fun this was???  I'm so excited to share this one with you!!

Wedding Wednesday: What's the backup plan for my wedding day??

One of the most common questions asked of wedding photographers is "What happens if something comes up and you can't photograph my wedding?"
WOW.
Not something that is fun to think about.  You never want to hear from your photographer "Hey I'm not going to make it to photograph your wedding...."  It's a nightmare situation, and it's something that needs to be addressed LONG before it actually happens.
So the answer to that particular question should never be "uuhhhhhhhmmmm....."  Your photographer should have something in place, or at the very least a general idea.
Are you ready for my own personal contingency plan?  Good.  The very cool part about Old Soul Imagery, is I have a built in associate photographer with my husband!  We shoot very similar styles, and once the photos are all edited, even  have a hard time distinguishing who took which photos.   If for whatever reason my husband is not available to shoot your wedding, I have an extensive and AMAZING network of local photographers who could step in and take care of you on your MOST important day!  Once they are finished with the actual photographing, I would still take on the editing myself.
Now not every photographer will have the same plan in place.  The most important thing is just that your photographer has something in place.

A Wedding in Durango - Andrew+Ashlynne

Ok, so it has been a LONG time since I've blogged!!  This past month has been spent searching for and moving in to our new home.  It was a process, let me tell you!!  BUT, now we are all moved in, and aside from unpacking and redecorating, things are back to normal.  So, that being said, it is time for me to post the photos from Andrew+Ashlynne's wedding at the BEAUTIFUL Leplatt's Pond just outside of Durango Colorado. This wedding was a TON of fun, and the bride and groom were just a joy to work with.  These two have been together since high school, and oh wow have they made it through so much!  They have already been there "in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer".  I cannot wait to watch these two spend the rest of their lives together!  And now, without further ado, here is the beginning of one of the most important chapters in their life!
